Volunteer

LHPR is a voluntary organisation and fully depends on the kindness of volunteers to carry out its aims and life-saving work. Whether its volunteering at the rescue centre, at a fundraising event or out on the frontline rescuing and transporting horses alongside the welfare team. If you can help out in anyway we want to hear from you! All volunteers should be over the age of 18 and 21 in some cases.

Transporting

Often our work involves transporting sick and injured horses back to LHPR base or to a veterinary hospital.

While we have one equine ambulance on the road this is usually always tied up at another call so were always in need of people to be available to help with transport as each situation arises.

We also need people to be able to transport horses and ponies to their new forever homes or in some cases short term foster homes.

If you carry a BE catergory license and are confident in pulling a horsebox we would love to hear from you today!

Yard Volunteer

Have you a real love for horses and ponies? Have you got even one hour to spare each week? If so maybe volunteering at LHPR is the thing for you!

Duties at the yard include mucking out, turning out horses and ponies, poo picking, grooming, feeding and general day to day yard duties.

There are two shifts you can take. 8.45am - 10.45am and 5.30pm - 7.30pm/6pm-8pm - Monday - Sunday (including Bank Holidays). If you can even commit to one shift per month we need to hear from you today :)

Fundraising and Administration

We would like to invite you to become a fundraising volunteer for the LHPR Fundraising is critical to supporting the work of LHPR rescuing, rehabilitating and responsibly rehoming horses and ponies that have been abused and neglected.

Even a few hours of your time can make a real difference- from organising community events, marshalling at our events, flag days and bucket collections, fundraising administration- we need your help!

Most people find volunteering very rewarding, and a great way to support charities. If you can help us, please complete the fundraising volunteer form and we will be in touch with you as soon as an opportunity becomes available that you have shown interested in.

Volunteers should be fully up to date with their tetanus vaccines and have their own transport to and from the yard.
