GUINNESS, 3 Y/O
GELDING
OR WRITE TO US:
GUINNESS is a lovely little chap with a really sweet disposition. He gets along with our golden oldie Primrose and he is such a friendly, sociable pony. Considering he was an abuse case and was terrified of people when he came into us in May 2014, Guinness enjoys human contact and he wants to please. He is well mannered for his age but he will need regular handling to maintain his good behaviour. In the right hands Guinness has the potential to make a delightful ridden pony when he is older. We expect him to make 13hh. We are looking for an experienced rehomer who has broken in horses in the past and who can give Guinness a solid foundation to his ridden career. Currently Guinness is unbroken, lives out during the day and in at night (when nights are icy and heavy rain). He is suitable to live out with mares or geldings and is well used to rugs.

HOLLY, 11 Y/O
MARE
HOLLY is a stunning mare. She came into L.H.P.R as a welfare rescue along with her 4 year old daughter. She is well handled but to date has not been backed. She should go on to make a nice riding pony. She is a gentle pony once she gets to know her handler. She is quiet for the farrier, vet but needs a little bit of reassurance with the dentist. Currently Holly is being lunged and long reined with the view of backing her in the coming months. Holly is currently on a diet (for obvious reasons) but is happy to live out with mares or geldings provided there is natural shelter.

MAVERICK, 2 1/2 Y/O
GELDING

MAVERICK came into our centre alongside his Mother Goose. He was only one week old. Since his arrival he has been weaned, castrated and begun handling to which he has taken to with a bright and lively interest. His main interest is food and he will do anything in the whole world for a single nut! Maverick is a handsome young man currently standing at 12.2hh and is now looking for a home with someone who will continue his education and bring him on with his handling. Maverick is a typical youngster who is nosey and bright and full of fun and he will need to have someone quiet and calm and used to dealing with youngsters to bring out his confidence and remind him of his manners, as sometimes he thinks he is a superhero! He is good with the vet and farrier though still needs reassurance and is good to live out all year, stand in a stable and is friendly with other horses. For the future we are looking for a home where Maverick can mature and lead an active life, potentially as a riding pony, but as long as he is happy and healthy he doesn’t need a home that requires him to be ridden.
Sadly his mother Goose died in Augut 2014 due to a fetlock injury and when both were rescued she was very weak and produced little milk. Therefore Maverick needed to be bottle fed sometimes and we believe this is the reason for his small size. Goose was 15hh and we expect Maverick to make 14hh.
